Dr. Vik Rajan

Vik Rajan, M.D.

Diplomate of American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine

Dr. Vik Rajan is a long time resident of Bellaire, Texas.  He attended Texas A&M University for both undergraduate and medical school in a Health Science Scholars Program where he obtained both a Bachelor of Science and his Medical Doctor degree in 6 years. After completing a Med-Peds residency at Tulane University he completed his fellowship in Nephrology at Baylor College of Medicine.  He is Board certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Nephrology.

Dr. Rajan’s interest in medicine stemmed from childhood based on the experiences his mother faced with kidney disease and transplantation.  Later on during his years in medical training, his mother’s health deteriorated and became so complex for her doctors to manage that he served as her medical patient advocate for the last eight years of her life.  In doing so, he was able to effectively review her medical care and coordinate with her doctors to be able to give her three years more quality of life and longevity than what was originally expected of her.

From that time forward, he developed a strong interest in understanding the true causes of most chronic diseases and how our diet and lifestyle choices truly impact out health. His approach strives to empower people to understand the root cause of their illness and to actually ‘decrease’ their need for medical intervention. This journey lead him to also become specialized in Integrative Medicine through the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine.

Dr. Rajan serves as an Integrative Medical physician for Specialty Healthcare and Wellness.  He is also the president and founder of Houston Patient Advocacy, a private patient advocacy and integrative medical health coaching service.

On a personal level, Dr. Rajan is married with two young daughters and is a long-time resident of Bellaire.  He speaks Spanish, and his varied interests include learning languages, traveling, music composition, and doing stand-up comedy.
